3-Way FloVerter Motorized Valve Model: FV-2.0
The FloVerter 12VAC valve works
in conjunction with either HelioMatic
electronic controller model.
When the controller is signaled by the sensors, and calls for solar heat pick-up, the FloVerter valve immediately activates. The opening "diverter" valve then directs the flow of circulation through the solar collectors using the pool's filtration pump.
The FloVerter valve is a 12VAC 2" I.D. valve, utilizes permanent magnetic synchronous motors, and has an extremely low CV.*
Technical Specifications: The FloVerter is a non-positive seal
valve with a small hole located in the diverter, which allows the collector to drain when the system is turned off. This draining prevents collector
damage due to cold weather freeze-ups.

Note: For a positive solar shutdown, or service to collectors during
pump operation cycle, an isolation ball or gate valve must be used on
the feed line for positive shut off.
*The extremely low Constant Velocity factor is due to the unique
curved and directed flow channel inside the diverter.
The FloVerter valve is better than ever!
A number of changes have been made to the Flo-Verter valve to make it even more reliable! Every component of the Flo-Verter valve has been analyzed and reevaluated. To further enhance the performance of the Flo-Verter, a number of positive changes have been made.
The motor mounts of the actuator motors are now thru bolted.
The wire terminal splices are soldered at the factory.
The actuator shaft is manufactured to upgrade tolerances with
Lubricomp and sealed with silicone to prevent the build-up
of chlorine gases.
The Model D controllers have a delay module built into the circuitry
to block spikes and voltages that might cause the valve to stop part
way to collection.
How is the Flo-Verter valve different from others?
The Flo-Verter valve looks pleasingly different from other motorized valves at the plumbing site of the pool. The homeowner can simply observe the arrow shaped valve handle and determine that pool water flow is going to the collectors, giving them confidence that solar heat collection is taking place. There is not a toggle switch on the Flo-Verter valve that can easily be left in the wrong position thereby eliminating costly service calls. The handle on the Flo-Verter valve allows the home owner or service personnel to manually change the direction of water flow. If left in a position not commanded by the controller, the valve position will be automatically corrected the next collection cycle.

FloVerter Technical Notes: Installation is simplified as one
port is easily identified with a "FLOW TO COLLECTOR" symbol.
An adequate length of three wire color coded cable is permanently
attached to the FloVerter valve and these three wires connect to the
color identified terminals on the HelioMatic controller. There is never
a need to check flow direction as an error is impossible if the same
colors are connected together.
