Goldline Pool Water or Roof Sensor 

The Goldline PC-10k Sensor can be used with any solar control unit that requires 10k sensors. 

This sensor has universal applications; it can be used to measure
solar heat on the roof, and also used to measure temperature of
the pool's water. 

When used on the roof, it is placed in direct sunlight and mounted to
the roof with a screw or adhesive. 

When used to measure pool water temperature, it is attached to
the PVC pipe; this requires drilling a hole in the PVC pipe, and using 
a standard stainless steel hose clamp [purchase separately] to
secure the sensor in place.

Pool Water or Roof Sensor application trouble-shooting tips:

All GoldLine controls including GL35, AquaSol, and GL235 series,
and all Heliomatic HM Series controls, and most other brands
incorporate the use of 10k sensors. Some other lesser known
brands used 3k sensors.

To determine the type of sensor, the resistance must be measured
in ohms using a volt/ohm meter when the sensor is at 77 degrees F. 

10k measures 10,000 ohms and 3k measures 3,000 ohms. 
As the temperature goes up, the resistance goes down. 

Resistance can be checked at any temperature, and then
convert the ohm reading measured to the temperature equivalent
by using the conversion chart.
