S-5! Universal Non-Penetrating Metal Roof Seam Clamp - Model S-5-U

S-5!® clamps attach to the panel seam by the tightening of two
"bullet-nosed" stainless steel setscrews against the seam material. (This is
usually done with an industrial grade screwgun.) The round point setscrews
compress the seam material against the opposite wall of the clamp. They will
"dimple" the seam material, but will not penetrate it. Threaded holes in the
clamp (stainless hardware is provided) enable the easy attachment of various
ancillary items to the clamps.
The S-5-U clamp is by far S-5's most popular and most versatile clamp. It
will fit about 85% of the standing seam profiles manufactured in North America
— including most structural and architectural profiles. It can be used
on vertically oriented seams, and by rotating the clamp 90 degrees, it can
also be used on most horizontal 2” seam profiles.

Clamp
The S-5-U Mini is a bit shorter than the S-5-U and has
one set screw rather than two. The mini is the choice for attaching all kinds
of rooftop accessories: signs, walkways, satellite dishes, antennas, rooftop
lighting, lightning protection systems, solar arrays, exhaust stack bracing,
conduit, condensate lines, mechanical equipment—just about
anything!*
*S-5! mini clamps are not compatible with, and should not be
used with S-5! SnoRail™/SnoFence™ or ColorGard® snow retention
systems.
Each box includes a bit tip for tightening setscrews using an
electric screw gun. A structural aluminum attachment clamp, the S-5-U is
compatible with most common metal roofing materials excluding copper. All
included hardware is stainless steel.
Horizontal Seams
For horizontal seams under .65" do not use this clamp.
Use the S-5-E and crimp the seam to 180
degrees at desired clamp location.
For horizontal seams under .5" you may
also use the S-5-T or the S-5-S to avoid crimping the seam.
For horizontal seams greater
than .5" and less than .625" use the S-5-T.

For horizontal seams greater than .65" use the S-5-U in its horizontal orientation or use the S-5-H90.
For horizontal seams less than .65" you may also
crimp the seam as shown above for the S-5-E.
