HM4000D / Base Price Controller 

The HM4000D unit utilizes the existing pool's circulation pump for solar heat pick-up. It works in conjunction with the FloVerter 12VAC valve, or with other manufacturer's 12VAC valves.

The FloVerter valve controls pool water circulation by the pool's filtration pump - either through the solar collectors, or bypassing the solar collectors. The HM4000D has the additional feature of being able to be used with either 12 or 24 volt valves.

Specific Applications: Designed for both residential and light-duty
commercial pools in the small to mid-size pool heating range when the
HelioMatic controller only needs a FloVerter Valve, or if a maintenance
change-out or upgrade is required.

Note: The unit has a front panel switch which provides for nocturnal pool
cooling instead of heating. Cooling is used in conjunction with the pool's
filtration pump being allowed to run during cooler hours of early dawn.




HM5000D / Upgrade Price Controller 

The HM5000D is identical to the 4000D except that in addition to operating either a 12 or 24 volt valve, the HM5000D will also operate a separate pump that is dedicated to solar circulation only. The pump can be sized up to 1HP with 120VAC and 2HP with 240VAC.

Another unique feature of the HM5000D is a built in time delay* for use during pool sweep. This feature prevents pool sweep malfunction due to the introduction of air into its pumped line. When the HM5000D calls for solar heat pick up, the valve will immediately activate. There is an approx. 8 minute delay before the pump turns on.

Specific Applications: Designed for both residential and medium-duty
commercial pools in the small to mid-size pool heating range when the
HelioMatic controller requires a FloVerter Valve, and when operation of
a separate pump that is dedicated to solar circulation is also required.

Note: When using a valve system only, the pool sweep pump may
be wired to the HM5000D output [must be the same voltage as the pool
filtration pump]. This method of pool sweep hook up will allow the pool
sweep to operate only when the solar collection is taking place and the
piping system will be purged of any air. *This function can be disabled.

3-Way FloVerter Motorized Valve
Model: FV-2.0

The FloVerter 12VAC valve works
in conjunction with either HelioMatic
electronic controller model.

When the controller is signaled by the
sensors, and calls for solar heat pick-up,
the FloVerter valve immediately activates.
The opening "diverter" valve then directs
the flow of circulation through the solar
collectors using the pool's filtration pump.

The FloVerter valve is a 12VAC 2" valve, 
utilizes permanent magnetic synchronous
motors, and has an extremely low CV.* 

Technical Specifications: The FloVerter is a non-positive seal
valve with a small hole located in the diverter, which allows the collector
to drain when the system is turned off. This draining prevents collector
damage due to cold weather freeze-ups.

FloVerter's Unique Features:
• Low profile design utilizes two synchronous motors to direct flow 
• Constructed using twin O-Rings that provide superior service
• Diverter designed with curved and fluted channel for reduced pressure 
• Unibody valve/actuator require no assembly; actuator easily replaced 
• Manual control over-ride always available using sure-grip handle 
• Color-coded wire terminals make connecting to controller a breeze!

• The FloVerter never needs lubrication, and may be mounted in any

Note: For a positive solar shutdown, or service to collectors during
pump operation cycle, an isolation ball or gate valve must be used on
the feed line for positive shut off.

*The extremely low Constant Velocity factor is due to the unique
curved and directed flow channel inside the diverter.

Pool Water Sensor
Model: IS-1.0-10K   

The IS-1.0 sensor is constructed
entirely of solid stainless steel,
inserted into a drilled hole in
the 1 1/2" or 2" plumbing pipe, 
and easily and quickly fastened 
in place using a stainless steel
hose clamp.

It is then wired into the system,
and signals the controller unit
with readings on the pool water
temperature.

The sensor seals to the pipe
with a long-lasting O-ring.

indestructible stainless steel sensor brings to the system truly 
guarantees years of corrosion resistant performance.

Solar Roof Sensor
Model: AS2-10K
 
The AS-2-10 is an all-aluminum
sensor block, designed to both
quickly and precisely determine
solar radiation [sun's rays], and
then simulate the internal water
temperature of the collector panels
caused by the solar absorption. 

The sensor instantly signals
the controller unit, which sends
the required command to the
3-Way FloVerter Valve.


Technical Specifications: The greater surface area of the
AS-2-10, combined with the superior conductivity characteristics 
of aluminum enable the sensor to detect the sun's rays sooner, 
plus detect when the right amount of solar energy is available.

It also reacts to cloudy conditions and the setting sun more
rapidly than other sensors on the market today, thus creating
greater heat flow precisely during the critical "solar window"
period and avoiding heat loss by not circulating when heat could
be lost through reverse process - resulting in a much warmer pool,
and a longer more pleasurable swimming experience!

A Solar Control Unit needs to be included as an integral component
of any solar system on an inground pool, or large above ground pool. 

Solar Controls are essential for maximizing the solar performance of
any pool solar systems - even if the geographical location is in a

FloVerter Technical Notes: Installation is simplified as one
port is easily identified with a "FLOW TO COLLECTOR" symbol. 

An adequate length of three wire color coded cable is permanently
attached to the FloVerter valve and these three wires connect to the
color identified terminals on the HelioMatic controller. There is never
a need to check flow direction as an error is impossible if the same
colors are connected together.

The FloVerter is a non-positive seal valve and the diverter has
a small hole, which allows the collector to drain when the system is off.
This draining prevents collector damage due to freeze ups.

Note: For a positive solar shutdown, or service to collectors during
pump operation cycle, an isolation ball or gate valve must be used on
